In Viticulture, the players find themselves in the roles of people in rustic, pre-modern Tuscany who have inherited meagre vineyards. They have a few plots of land, an old crush pad, a tiny cellar, and three workers. They each have a dream of being the first to call their winery a true success.

The players are in the position of determining how they want to allocate their workers throughout the year. Every season is different on a vineyard, so the workers have different tasks they can take care of in the summer and winter. There's competition over those tasks, and often the first worker to get to the job has an advantage over subsequent workers.

Fortunately for the vineyard owners, people love to visit wineries, and it just so happens that many of those visitors are willing to help out around the vineyard when they visit as long as you assign a worker to take care of them. Their visits (in the form of cards) are brief but can be very helpful. Using those workers and visitors, the vineyard owners can expand their vineyards by building structures, planting vines, and filling wine orders, working towards the goal of running the most successful winery in Tuscany.

Viticulture Essential Edition includes the base game of Viticulture and a few of the most popular modules from the original Tuscany expansion, including Mamas & Papas, Fields (previously known as Properties), expanded and revised Visitors, and Automa cards for a solo variant, along with a few minor rule changes.

Tuscany Essential Edition is an expansion for Viticulture which features the three most popular expansion modules from the original Tuscany expansion:

• Extended Board: New game board featuring four full seasons for worker placement.
• Structure Cards: New cards that players can build to supplement their existing structure figures.
• Special Workers: New workers with their own special abilities, which players can train.

All other expansions from the original Tuscany expansion will go out of print.

Tuscany Essential Edition is recommended for use with Viticulture Essential Edition, but it is compatible with older versions of Viticulture as well.

Cooperate with members of your extended winemaking family in various asymmetric regions around the world in Viticulture World: Cooperative Expansion as you try to achieve global recognition. Balance the management of your individual vineyard with the combined effort of your fellow players to gain influence within the region.

Using the new game board, tiles, tokens, and event cards combined with the original vineyard mats and game cards, you have six years to achieve the two conditions necessary for victory in the selected region: (1) Each player must reach 25 victory points and (2) the shared influence token must reach the end of the influence track. The cooperation, objectives, and asymmetry in this expansion are similar to that of Spirit Island and Orleans: Invasion.

The Viticulture core game is required to play the Viticulture World expansion. Other expansions are compatible with this expansion.

You have new visitors! Visit from the Rhine Valley, an expansion for Viticulture, provides you with a new set of eighty visitor cards, which focus less on victory points and more on the wine business itself. These cards have their own unique backs as they must be played without other visitor cards from Viticulture, Tuscany, and Moor Visitors.

The Viticulture Moor Visitors Expansion, designed by famed designer Uwe Rosenberg (Agricola, Caverna, Patchwork) and Viticulture designers Jamey Stegmaier and Alan Stone, adds 40 new visitors to any version of Viticulture.

Early editions also included corrected reprints of the Promoter blue visitor (for the base game) with rewording allowing to spend 1 grape OR 1 wine to gain VP and Residual, instead of having to spend both grape and wine. And Harvest Machine orange construction card (for Tuscany), fixing a misprint where cost was blank (now 2). Later prints of Moor Visitors do not have these two cards. Back of the box with the description will clearly state if they are included. If the description only mentions 20 Summer and 20 Winter cards then they are not included.

The Wine Crate is an organizer box for Viticulture, designed from the inside out to hold all Viticulture components (core game and expansions, even out-of-print modules) in an assortment of 5 custom plastic inserts and accompanying lids. It fits sleeved cards (recommend 60-micron thickness), and it is designed to facilitate quick setup via the player-token trays.

The Wine Crate organizer box does not include the Viticulture core game or any gameplay content. It's big, but it's still portable, and it fits nicely onto a Kallax shelf.
