Chess - Probably the greatest strategy game of all time - was invented in India about 1600 years ago. Since that time, it has spread to all countries, and just about every culture of the civilized world; and in one form or another it will probably continue to be played as long as the human race exists.

Chess - infinite in its scope and subtlety - has been aptly described as a "gymnasium for the mind". According to an old Indian proverb, it is "a pool from which a mosquito will drink and a lake in which an elephant may bathe". In other words, it may be played with benefit and enjoyment by both the very young and inexperienced as well as people well advanced in age and wisdom.

This is a specially designed set for children. It has large wooden pieces that are easy to grasp, colorful character decals that bring the set to life, and special origineering "movement" cards which will help young players to move correctly from the very first game. With this unique set, even very young children will quickly learn the rules and basic moves of chess.
